The Social Care Center in Legnickie Pole is an institution that provides care to people who are unable to live on their own due to their physical or mental condition. The institution runs 6 therapy groups for a total of over 400 persons living there. This year, the employees of C&M Localization Center organized support for the Social Care Center and raised money for gifts for the residents of the institution to celebrate the International Women’s Day. Students from Secondary School no. 2 in Legnica, who prepared a wonderful entertainment program, were the main organizers of the celebration. The students’ performance, as well as the gifts from our company, were received with enthusiasm by both the women living at the Social Care Centre and the institution’s management. We are convinced that this and other such initiatives will continue to be held in the years to come.

The internship programme led by Centrum Lokalizacji C&M proved to be very popular among students and graduates from Polish universities. The number of candidates still exceeds the number of vacancies, so we choose only the best ones. As the programme has aroused great interest at the local level, we have decided to extend our offer and join the international programme Leonardo da Vinci. It is a part of the European Union educational programme, the Lifelong Learning Programme, which supports education and vocational training initiatives. The programme provides financing for foreign internships designed for students from the European Union countries. At present, a linguistic studies graduate from Belgium has embarked on this internship. During this 5-month programme, he will be trained in the use of CAT and quality assurance tools, translation project management and he will also familiarize himself with other aspects of a modern localization company.

C&M has funded scholarships for two talented students from a middle and secondary school under the “Świat dla Młodych” (World for the Young) scholarship scheme. The scheme was launched at the end of 2011 with a purpose to award students showing unusual aptitude for learning foreign languages and who have had unparalleled achievements in this field. The purpose of the scholarship is not only to award talented students for their hard work but also to encourage their further development. Following preliminary evaluation, the best five students from the schools in the Lower Silesia were qualified for the finale. All the students showed very equal level which resulted in the Jury facing the difficult task of choosing the best two students. We would like to congratulate all the finalists. Students from the Lower Silesian region showing linguistic talents are invited to participate in the scholarship scheme next year.

In October 2011, C&M Localization Center organized a volleyball match. The prize for the winners was the Cyril and Methodius Cup (C&M). The match was played by two teams: C&M Staff and Translators. It was a whale of game; both teams proved themselves to be well prepared and highly determined to win. In the third set, the C&M Team won the whole match. The company's CEO congratulated to both teams and presented the winners with the Cyril and Methodius Cup. After the game, both teams took part in an informal meeting in one of Wrocław restaurants. This match was the one that started a new tradition of organizing this kind of sports competitions, which our company will certainly continue in the future.
